Dr. Al Fakir believes in contributing to the success and happiness of others. With over 14 years of dental experience in Alberta and Ontario, Dr. Al Fakir first practiced as a general dentist before specializing in orthodontics. He earned his Master’s Degree in Orthodontics from the University of Alberta in 2011, focusing on the latest advancements in facial and smile aesthetics, as well as early orthodontic intervention. Before that, he completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Additionally, he obtained a diploma in Health Service Administration from Dalhousie, which deepened his understanding of patient care and quality performance. His education and extensive experience have allowed him to work effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds and age groups.
As a published author, Dr. Al Fakir has contributed to various academic journals. He has also served as a clinical instructor in the undergraduate clinic at the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Dentistry. Over the years, he has been recognized with several honors, including the Alberta Higher Education Scholarship in 2009 and an academic award from Dalhousie University in 2004. In 2019, he achieved his highest professional designation as a “Diplomate in Orthodontics” from the American Board of Orthodontics.
Outside of his profession, Dr. Al Fakir prioritizes family above all else. He and his wife are proud parents of three young children, who have taught him the values of patience and adaptability in both life and work.
